The Fein Multimaster FMM 250Q TOP features a new quick release blade mechanism which does not require the use of allen keys or bolts. The tool mounting is star shaped to prevent the blade from creeping or rotating when cutting. The variable speed head oscillates in an arc of 3.2 degrees at a rate of 14000-21000 oscillations per minute and the speed can be set to suit the task being performed. Benefiting from a larger motor than its predecessor, the new Fein Multimaster has a 250 Watt, high torque motor which allows it to cut metals as well as wood.

- Multimaster is a very pricey tool but works as advertised. Review by John
- I recently purchased a ms250Q because I had identified a number of projects that would be a lot easier with the tool if it worked as advertised. The first project that I worked on with the tool was changing outside lights on a house that had lap siding and inserts to mount the lights so that they hung in a verticle position. The inserts were caulked in and had to be removed because the mounting bases on the new lights were offset and larger than the old lights. I used the scraper blade that came with the kit and it worked like a champ to cut through the old caulk and remove the excess that was on the siding. I had previously fabricated new and larger inserts so I marked the siding material that needed to be removed at the bottom and within a few moments the insert hole was enlarged and ready for mounting the new insert. I did three lights and one of the insert holes was to narrow to accept the new insert. Using the rasp that came in the kit I was able to quickly true up the sides of the insert hole. I might add that the blade changing was a breeze. I am 70 years young and in all of my life, I have never been more please with a tool. I wish that I had discovered the Fein Multimaster a long time ago. However, every time that I have to purchase new blades or accessories, I will get the hicups. (Posted on 3/5/10)
